Chuck joined the staff of Owenton First Baptist Church in February 2013 and serves as the Worship & Media Pastor. He is passionate about helping the church sing truth, grow in faith, and worship in a way that is both deeply biblical and meaningfully connected across generations. Chuck believes worship is more than music — it is the overflow of a life surrendered to Christ — and he is committed to equipping the church to worship with both heart and understanding.
Before entering full-time ministry, Chuck served in the local school system, where he developed a heart for investing in students and helping others grow — something that continues to shape his ministry today. In addition to his role at First Baptist, Chuck hosts the Equipped for Worship podcast, where he encourages and equips worship leaders — especially those serving in small churches. He also sings with the Kentucky Baptist Chorales and serves on the leadership team for Kentucky Student Worship Camp, investing in the next generation of worshipers and worship leaders.
Chuck has a deep love for the local church and especially values the role of the choir and congregation in lifting their voices together in unified worship. When he’s not serving in ministry, you’ll likely find him enjoying a good cup of coffee, exploring the latest technology, working on his house, or cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats.
Haven’t I commanded you: be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord you God is with you wherever you go.
