Welcome to Owenton First Baptist Church! We are so excited you would like to join us for worship. Visiting a new church can be challenging and difficult so we would like to make your visit as welcoming as possible. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions. We look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
what time is worship on sunday morning?
Worship comes in many forms and styles. At FBC, we offer two worship services on Sunday mornings — an Early Service and a Late Service.
Both of our services are exactly the same. At FBC we have what we like to call a Unified style of worship — we use hymns, praise songs, and music from today’s top Christian music; we don’t worry about meeting quotas or percentages of all the different styles, we just aim to praise the Lord with music. Our Early Service meets in the sanctuary at 9:00 am, and our Late Service meets at 11:00 am.
In addition to Sunday worship services, we offer a variety of Sunday School classes throughout the church building. These classes vary in age and focus. Each Sunday we have greeters stationed at our Welcome Center. These greeters will be happy to help you and your family members choose a class and then give you directions to the classroom where your class meets. Sunday School starts at 10:00 am.

I’m a visitor. Where do I park?
We are delighted you are visiting our church. There are four parking lots on the church property, as well as street parking surrounding the church property. Our Front Lot is located off of Main Street. In our Front Lot you will find “visitor” parking spaces. Our Back Lot can be accessed from Perry Street and is part of our Family Life Center. Our two Side Lots can be accessed from Blanton Street and Perry Street. If the parking spaces are filled, feel free to park along Main Street if space is available.
What doors do I enter if I’m visiting?
There a multiple entrances around the FBC Campus with signage that will help you find your way. The entrance located in our Front Lot will take you straight to the Welcome Center and to helpful greeters that can point you in the right direction. We also have entrances that enter straight into the sanctuary that can be accessed from Main Street. Our Blanton Side entrance can be used to access the FBC Staff Offices, the Youth Room, and the sanctuary. If you park in the Back Lot, you can enter through the Fellowship Hall doors then take the stairs up to the Welcome Center.
Is there a dress code?
Please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. No matter what you wear, we will accept you for who you are. On any given Sunday you will find people wearing anything from jeans and shorts to suits and dresses.
Where do My Children Go During Worship?
Children are a big part of our faith community and we are glad you want them to experience FBC.
Infants and Toddlers: Our Nursery is open and available every service. We offer a safe, clean environment with capable folks who share a love for children.
Preschool – 2nd Grade: Our Children’s Church is available each Sunday. The kids join their parents for the beginning of worship, then are dismissed right before the sermon.
3rd – 6th Grades: We consider that worship is vital to the growing faith of our children. Children who are in this age range are invited to attend worship with their parents.
How do I become a member of Owenton FIrst Baptst?
FBC receives members in different ways including a profession of faith in Jesus as Lord & Savior and by requesting baptism by immersion, by transfer of membership from another Baptist church, and by statement of a previous conversion experience and baptism by immersion.
